No Matter What!!!
In a world of self loathing posts, praises from strangers on pages we judge and envy, it’s hard sometimes to continue to believe in yourself. As a new stay at home mom, or working from home mom (due to the pandemic) removed from any friends and family that use to be able to get together, self doubt is almost inevitable at some point. It’s no one’s fault (per say), can it be controlled? Maybe. Maybe not.
Have you ever felt like you were once the one cheerleading through everyone else’s victories, accomplishments and ideas, goals and visions only to find you don’t have the same ones cheering for you when you are trying to accomplish something that is your vision? They aren’t buying your new product, your delicious cupcakes, they aren’t reading your book you just published, your blog you have up…whatever it is. Doesn’t it feel crappy? Heck yes! Do you find yourself questioning what the French toast happened to my praise? To my round of applause, to my “you’re doing a good job” moments??? Do you know that even if you feel like you are alone in that moment, you are not alone. There is another momma out there that is going through the same emotions, the same doubts, the same frustration.
Why am I even saying this? What’s the point right? It doesn’t change anything you are facing or dealing with. No, maybe not, and that’s the truth. Thats our reality. But sometimes we as people don’t want to face our reality. We get so caught up into our own worlds and our own to-do lists that we don’t realize how we might be impacting someone else’s world. We are so consumed and busy with what we got going on that we don’t care what might be damaging to the others around us. As a mother this is hard, well, for some. Not every mom has the same sensitively level. Not every mom has the same emotions. Some moms aren’t connected or in tune like others. At the end of the day, that’s what makes us individuals. Thats what sets us apart from each other. And we can’t change others, point blank, period.
No one wants to hear something that sounds so insensitive, even if it is reality. Some people run from it, and some people are ok with it, and some like to face it head on. Regardless of your position or personal preference, no matter what you have to keep believing in what you are doing. You can’t stop because others aren’t stopping for you. Thats not how life works. Thats probably not what you are teaching your kids…right? So you have to remind yourself that you can’t stop believing and pushing yourself either. Shake that sh*t off that frustrates you, that makes you sad, that hurts, that has you crying in the bathroom by yourself. Get it out!!!
However you need to, but don’t stop believing in yourself. Your kid (or kids) might not even be old enough to understand when you have moments of self doubt, and that’s ok because they are still looking up to you. They love you no matter what. Even when they get on your nerves they are your biggest cheerleaders! Whatever it is you are doing, what you love, what you enjoy and that’s your passion, don’t stop! We are always going to be faced with something, if it was easy everyone would be doing the same thing, but that’s not reality. If you take nothing else away from the words on this screen, just don’t stop believing in yourself. Remember you do have cheerleaders surrounding you (even if they can’t communicate it).
