I really love working with other mommas and getting their insight when it comes to being a mom, holding down the household and managing to stay connected to our sense of self and individual personality.

I felt compelled to repost the link to Olivia’s blog on Lessons from a Stay-At-Home Moms because this very reason is why I started The Expressive Mom blog. There is no handbook for being a momma, whether it’s a momma to one or multiple children. You get so many tips and tricks when you are pregnant, but when the time comes and you have that little person in front of you, so many things can change, environments, lifestyle, challenges, hardships, joys and everything else.

When I became a SAHM during the pandemic I felt overwhelmed and honestly didn’t know what all was going through my mind because it was far from the environment that mommas were use to. Everyone was scared or hesitant to be out, if you weren’t in someones immediate family you most likely weren’t seeing them, and let’s not start on how shopping changed. So for me, it was a culture shock. It was NOT what I was expecting, but it was for the best for our family at the time and we worked with it.

I missed the connections with other mommas, and women in general! I was removed from being social, and for me woah that was extremely challenging. The Expressive Mom gave me an outlet, certain social media outlets allowed me to connect with new mommas in similar circumstances and I began to feel my shift in journey was becoming clear.

Fast forward to today and I am always excited to get the chance to collaborate with another momma, share thoughts and ideas and pump each other up with unlimited support and praise!

Please take some time to go visit Olivia on her blog Leaf and Steel and make sure to check out Lessons from Stay-At-Home Moms with some input from other mommas and their views.

A boy momma that stumbled on to an amazing community of other mommas across social media platforms that are positive, fun, supportive, uplifting and entertaining! My new song out now Mommin' My Own Business is the perfect mom anthem for all of us that can relate in some way, shape or form.
