25 Aug How To Channel Your Energy
As I still find myself trying to find my groove back, like Stella, I think about things that make me tick. What triggers certain emotions and how do I handle them? A few things have happened recently to make me even think to blog about this. One of them being a very touchy subject I am sure for a lot of mommas and women in general.
Back in the day I use to get all hyped up and show my anger when something pissed me off or made me mad. I would go through the wave of maybe yelling and being loud to maybe even crying. As I’ve gotten older I have realized that those different energies and emotions don’t fix anything. Nothing good comes from negative energy. If anything, that negative energy was blocking blessings I didn’t see or understand.
As a mom of a growing boy, a mom to an energetic dog and wife and support to an amazing husband, I am not allowing anything block my blessing if I can help it. Is it easy? Not all the time, but the bigger picture is that I am focused on leading by example, I am wanting to be the best me so I can be the best for my house of boys. Also, why just why waste energy? It doesn’t make any sense. And it damn sure isn’t making you any dollars…so, here are just a few tips I use myself to channel my energy. Please feel free to let me know how you channel yours!
Tip #1 – Figure out what is causing the negative energy. As women, we might not always know or acknowledge when something has set us off. We might go into a reaction and will be so far gone we forgot what took us there to begin with. And then everything will have us there. It’s something to laugh at when you really think about it, but it’s also an ahh haa moment to make you stop and think.
Tip #2 – Breathe and take a break. We as mommas and wives and significant others are always looking out for everyone else. We see and read about self-care and taking time for us but sometimes forget to do it while going about our days. It’s ok! As long as we are aware of the need to stop for a moment. It sounds cliche and like a broken record, but it’s something we must do.
Tip #3 – Vent yo a$$ off. When you feel the urge to say something, do something or just feel confused, call or talk to someone that will respect your need to just vent. Make sure it’s someone that you can trust, that is a good listener and will not voluntarily give their two or three cents if you aren’t asking for it.
Tip #4 – Watch encouraging messages either on your phone, on tv or online. We don’t always have the opportunity to speak with a friend or family member that can help us through our moments and for these reasons I have even found some good motivational speakers I have watched, I have looked up some good Ted Talks, maybe a good sermon or anything in that field. You never know what message you might receive that helps you in a time of needing it.
Like I said in the beginning, once I realized my negative energy wasn’t changing anything I found better ways to address and handle it. It isn’t always easy, but life is never promised the next day, we all have been through a lot this past year and a half so being the best versions of ourselves is the best thing we can do for us and our families. Be well mommas!!
